Trip Highlights

This is the arrival day whereby visitor/s will be received from JRO -KIA airport to Arusha at a place of a chosen accommodation. Such as Grand Melia hotel, Arusha hotel, Novels Hotel, Kibo palace and many more. Dinner and overnight at the hotel in Arusha region.

Wake up for breakfast and prepare for safari at around 08:am be ready to start driving from Arusha town to the Serengeti, for approximately 6-7 hours via Ngorongoro transit. Visitors will be provided with lunch boxes and water at lunch time. Expect to arrive in the Serengeti entrance in the afternoon, after registration and lunch done at Naabi gate then enter the park for the late afternoon and evening game drive. Dinner and overnight at a chosen accommodation in the Serengeti national park.

Wake up for the breakfast in the Serengeti and do the morning game drive to the park exit and enter Ngorongoro park for the day trip. Then after the game drive in Ngorongoro Crater drive back to Arusha to end Safari. In this day you will be also provide with lunch boxes during safari. Dinner and overnight at the hotel in Arusha. Before or after dinner depending on the time you arrive in Arusha from Safari, your Kilimanjaro guide/s will be there to give you a short brief on Kilimanjaro as a preparation for the trekking.

Wake up for the breakfast at Machame hut,and prepare to leave at around 08:00 am and continue hiking to Shira cave camp at 3820m a.s.l . This takes approximately 4-5 hours hiking for 7 km through Heath and Moorland zone. Visitors will be provided with snacks and water to use during the hike. Visitors will have hot lunch at Shira cave camp. After lunch and little rest at the camp, the guides will lead visitors to the acclimatization point that takes an hour to hike and get back to the camp. Acclimatization is good for making bodies get used to elevation and environment. The guides will introduce visitors to the whole GPA Kilimanjaro team. Dinner and overnight at Shira cave camp.

This is the first day of hiking Kilimanjaro mountain via Machame route. After breakfast at the hotel in Arusha, at around 08 00 am the driver and the whole GPA team will be headed to Kilimanjaro with visitors for approximately 3 hours including drive stops in between Arusha and Kilimanjaro region. After the registration process at Machame gate 1800m above sea level visitors and GPA team will hike to Machame hut 3000m a.s.l for 10 km distance using approximately 5-6 hours , You will be provided with lunch boxes. Hiking is mostly through the trail in the natural rain forest gaining metres higher. Expect to see some beautiful flora and fauna such as the impatient Kilimanjaro, giant scenecio, blue monkey, culubus monkey, Raven,doves and others to be mentioned. Dinner and overnight at Machame hut camp. Guides will be briefing about the next day schedule before going to bed.

The day begins, visitors will have breakfast and start hiking at around 0800am from Shira cave camp to Baranco camp 3840m a.s.l. via the highest acclimatization point of 4600m above sea level called the Lava Tower. This day depending on the weather You might have hot lunch at Lava Tower or be provided with lunch boxes,meals are assured. It is one of the longest days hiking for 12 km with approximately 7-8 hours through the alpine desert and the upper Heath and Moorland zone. Dinner and overnight at Baranco camp.

One of the earliest waking up days, after breakfast in the morning of Baranco camp, the guides will lead visitors through the most beautiful scenic climbing Baranco wall 4200m above sea level,this takes approximately 1:30 hours. And then connect to the base camp called Barafu camp4600m a.s.l. via Karanga Valley camp 3910m a.s.l. The visitors will have hot lunch at Karanga Valley camp. After lunch the next task is to hike to the base camp "Barafu", which means ICE. This whole day Trek takes approximately 8-10 hours with a distance of 10 km. Dinner and overnight at Barafu base camp.

Wake up at midnight around 11 pm for a hot tea and some cookies or snacks and prepare for 12:00 am start hiking to the summit UHURU PEAK. Uhuru peak is the highest point of Africa nicknamed the Roof of Africa 5895m above sea level. Expecting the sunrise in morning of day 9 at the roof top of Kilimanjaro mountain,the highest free standing mountain in the world. This is the longest day of all days because after summit, visitors will have to go back to the base camp for a little rest and descend to the lower camp in the forest zone called Mweka Hut Camp 3100m above sea level. This hiking up to the summit and descend to Mweka camp takes approximately 18 hours of the day 5 up on Kilimanjaro. Dinner and overnight at Mweka Hut Camp.

This is the day people normally wakes up exhausted but with victory of making it to the top and hike down to Mweka gate for the exit and accomplish the Kilimanjaro trekking days. Lunch, dinner and overnight in Arusha. If any emergency or matter of time, lunch can be provided anywhere between Moshi and Arusha. The drive back to Arusha is approximately 2:30 hours .The visitors who makes to the top will be awarded with certificates.

NOTE:

Water is the number one medicine during the hiking,we recommend not less than three litres of drinking water per person per day. This is provided and our team is aware of the use of water. Say no to body dehydration.

Follow Rules and regulations of all the Parks and the country.

From the beginning of the mountain climbing days ,in every evening before going to bed your guides will be briefing you on the next day's hike and do health monitoring records.

Time telling on the mountain is an approximation depending on the pace of the trekkers but always we insist on slow and steady pace,"POLE POLE.

Meals up Kilimanjaro are provided by our best GPA team ( Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner).

Accommodation is in the tents on Kilimanjaro.
