For Garrett Stangel, fitness isn’t just a career—it’s a way of life that builds resilience, sharpens focus, and unlocks human potential. A proud U.S. Marine veteran, Garrett began his journey keeping Marines in combat-ready shape. Since then, he has dedicated nearly three decades to helping people reprioritize their health. His experience ranges from managing commercial clubs and directing corporate wellness programs for QuadMed, to coaching high school athletics and founding multiple fitness facilities. Today, he channels that passion into coaching as the owner of Balance Fitness and Wellness in Glendale, Wisconsin, and co-owner of 9Round Fitness in Wauwatosa.

 

Garrett pairs real-world grit with deep academic expertise. As a former university exercise science adjunct faculty member and Subject Matter Expert for the American Council on Exercise (ACE), he educates and mentors the next generation of trainers nationwide. He practices what he preaches, having pushed his own limits as a competitive bodybuilder, mixed martial artist, Ironman triathlete, and powerlifter.Garrett believes real growth begins right past your comfort zone. His mission is straightforward: help you define your best self, break through your limits, and build a stronger, healthier life through exercise, nutrition, and sustainable habits—no excuses.
